Archaeology presented brilliantly!!
An exceptionally good visit today to the Tarbat Discovery Centre. A group of 21 of us - members of the Norfolk & Norwich Archaeological Society - had a wonderful time finding out about Portmahomack and its astonishing archaeology. The rich diversity of finds from excavations in and around the church of St Colman - now the Discovery Centre - are presented with great clarity and it was marvellous to see so many fascinating objects close up. The Pictish material in particular was fascinating, the local staff very helpful, and the Centre also enabled a much greater understanding of a wide area. Recommended highly - it should be on the cruise liner lists but isn't so go now before they discover it too. And there is tea, coffee and biscuits!
